Scott Pilgrim Vs. The World
Right now, if I could pick a director I want to be like… it wouldn’t be Spielberg, Cameron or even Coppola (in the 70′s of course). It would be Edgar Wright… Everything he has done so far has been gold in my eyes… and if he can make a film with Michael Cera that I actually ‘want’ to see then truly he is pure genius.
Behold Scott Pilgrim Vs. The World
What the hell is wrong with Philadelphia?
Besides this disturbing story that you’ll find at this website, you’ll find a rotating story banner at the top that informs you that locals are having a chuckle at the latest sodomy story. Are people from Philadelphia insane?
Predators – Sneak Peak – Some Screen Caps

If you’re a fan of the original Predator… and heard that Robert Rodriguez was doing a ‘true sequel’ (in the vein of Alien to Aliens) you might be excited. However that excitement might have been squished after hearing they cast Adrien Brody as the film’s ‘tough-guy’ lead. However if you watch the sneak preview at predators-movie.com you might find yourself having a bit more faith in the project…
Not sold on this guy yet, however I might look forward to him being dead.
That’s more like it.
Awwww, he’s all wrapped up in a intergalactic mess…
Didn’t you learn anything from the first movie?? “no sport”
As cool as this looks, I’m pretty sure it’s gonna blow… but there is always that chance that it won’t.
Wow, recently I’ve been sounding like one hell of a jaded geek.

Stargate Universe 1.5 Trailer
I have to admit that I was almost burnt out on the whole Universe thing until the very end of the mid season finale.
It appears that they are giving us exactly what we want: gun fights, ship battles, aliens, and a serious mixture of sci-fi drama…. and less of what really sucks about the show: mock trials, stupid childish drama, no aliens, and use of stupid technologies like communication stones. However I’ve had my heart broken before, so I’m going to stay slightly pessimistic until I’m sure they are back on track.
Oh, and Lou Diamond Philips’s character is a dick.

Monsters (the "The Latin District 9")
Kind of cool looking clip from the movie ‘Monsters’… this a little higher class than your classic ‘Sci-Fi unoriginal’. The film is being screened at various festivals like SXSW, and other festivals that still allow science fiction films that don’t involve the constant reminding that corporations are evil. If the rumor is true, the aliens will look like walking octopuses.

Repair a scratched iPhone
As part of my research on how to cleanup my polyester resin parts, I stumbled upon this little gem. It’s quite an interesting little how to on cleaning up an iPhone. Just thought I would pass it along.
World of Warcraft 3.3 Released?
Am I blind or has no one else caught this?

It’s 11/25 @ 1:59am PST and my Blizzard downloader says I now have the patch to 3.3?
Uh… This has to be old news right?

V – The Reboot Series

I watched the original V series so many times as a kid that it was nearly imprinted into my brain. However that imprint has faded as the years have gone by and it’s just in time for a reboot. Now, before we get into this… I’m 100% ready for people to start accepting Science Fiction shows as main stream television, however I have serious doubts that will happen. V is the latest attempt to make that happen, and using the classic “aliens show up, floating above major cities” is perhaps the safest way to make it work. Unfortunately that safe bet already doesn’t look good for the series, as reports are already surfacing that the show is in trouble. I figured i’d go over what I thought worked and did work… I’ll stick to 3 points for both bad and good… If you’ve not seen the show, you may want to skip everything below. Lets cover the bad first…
Bad

1. Stop killing Wash! – Seriously, you give him an opportunity to get back into science fiction and then you shove a chunk of metal into his heart in the first episode. Did you even watch Serenity? Did you watch how he died in that movie? I’m pretty sure you did, so you gathered all the Firefly fans and then spit in their face. Nice work guys… seriously… Yes I saw the preview for the next episode, and that was equivalent to the spit having a little bit of cold virus in it.
2. Dialog – What the hell was that ID4 reference? You know, the line about how ID4 was a rip off… (pause) This isn’t Mystery Science Theater 3000, so just stop.
3. Pace – The original mini series took 3 hours to do what you did in 1 hour. Thanks for robbing me of 2 more episodes of science fiction.
Good
1. It’s Science Fiction - I have a show about Alien Invasions in prime time, I will shut my fat pie hole as long as it doesn’t go the way of heroes.
2. The Tech - Thanks for ships that are not round like coasters… God will be pissed he has no where to set his drink, but we will remind him of point number 1.
3. Pace - The original mini series took 3 hours to do what you did in 1 hour. Thanks for saving me from the bullshit 2 extra hours to get to the good stuff… however the good stuff better be coming.
